Congrats. I love the knit dress. I found your blog cause i was looking for csa reviews. I notice you were asking about one 4 years ago. i think it wast east farms. I think you decided to go co-op. How did that work out? I notice you have a garden so do you do that instead of csa? I was wonding if I should do it. I have no garden cause i don't know where to start. I could but i don't have a green thumb. Thanks. If you do the garden does it save you more money that if you went-co-op or csa? thanks for replying.
We never joined a CSA because when we got a sample, we didn't really enjoy what we got. It didn't seem worth it, in my opinion. We have a Square Foot Garden (kind of) and we grow A LOT. We pretty much grow everything we needed veggie wise except for corn since it's such a space hog. Gardening is an easy hobby because you get multiple fresh starts...at least once a year. I kill so much stuff it's not even funny but I don't let that deter me from gardening. You just have to be fearless and if you kill stuff, who cares? Just go get some more starts and try again. As for starting a garden I really love container gardening. We have 15 gallon pots that some trees came in that we plant in as well as a barrel that we got from Home Depot. Inexpensive to start with. Gardening saves money in the long run. We spent close to $1,000 this year for baby trees, dirt, wood, etc to start our garden from scratch. It's a pretty big garden that we will enjoy for years. Hope that helps.
